Palm Sunday Message – Mark 15:25-39

Greeting Salem Church. I look forward to connecting with you for Bible Study today at 10:00am.

I also invite us to unite our hearts in worship today and offer to you the following service outline. I have recorded a message from Mark 15:25-39.

We continue to journey through this season of Lent with a focus on the final 24 hours of Jesus’s life. This was my first time recording all by myself.

Y’all pray. I will get better — I hope.

Like last week, I have add links to hymns in hopes of enhancing our worship.

To hear the hymns and the message, simply click on the titles.

May the Holy Spirit stir within us as we worship God today.

Call to Worship: (Psalm 138)

I will praise you, O Lord, with all my heart; I will sing your praise
I will bow down toward your holy temple and praise your name for you have exalted above all things your name and your word.

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your love, O Lord, endure forever, do not abandon the works of your hands.
Through the Lord is on high, he looks upon the lowly, may they sing of the ways of Lord, for the glory of the Lord is great.

Opening Hymn: My Hope is Built

Opening Prayer:

Holy God, we rejoice in your saving love made evident in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus. As we enter this holiest of weeks, strengthen us to walk the way of the cross. Awaken our ears and open our hearts that we may hear anew the story of Christ’s passion. All this we ask in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Morning Lesson – 1 Corinthians 1:18-25

Pastoral Prayer: (Today, I invite you to inject specific names when prompted by the pauses (. . . ) in this prayer.)

God of grace and God of Glory, we rejoice in your presence today. Your love ever enfolds our hearts and in your presence we find peace. By your own hand we are your children- fearfully and wonderfully molded in your image. May we reflect your love, your compassion, your grace in the midst of the COVID-19 crisis. In all our ways, we trust you.

We pray for all who are sick and in need of healing. . .
We pray for those who grieve and are in need of comfort. . .
We pray for those who are fearful and in need of peace. . .
We pray for those who are exhausted and in need of strength. . .
We pray for those who lead, grant them your wisdom. . .
Increase our faith and remind us again of your rich promises.

Unite us so that with one heart, we might share the hope of Christ Jesus with our community, nation, and world. We are yours, O Lord. In Jesus’ name we pray. Amen.

Benediction:

May the peace of Christ go with you, wherever He may send you.

May he guide you through the wilderness and protect you through the storm

May he bring you home rejoicing at the wonders he has shown you.

May he bring you home rejoicing once again into our doors. God bless each of you. Amen.
